The nine lapper was won by Marcus Zukanovic in his Action Motor Industries 1980 Ford Falcon XD. He started from grid position six and systemically worked his through to the lead and gallantly held off a late challenge from George Miedecke (Whiteline Racing 1969 Chev Camaro) to win by 0.13 seconds.

Pole sitter Cameron Mason Mason (Lake Macquarie Sheetmetal ’69 Ford Mustang) finished third just in front of Ryan Hansford (Multispares Holden Torana A9X) who started seventh.

Miedecke’s teammate Adam Bressington (’70 Chev Camaro) shadowed the pair to the line and was clear of John Bowe (Torana), Steve Johnson (Falcon XD) and eighth placed Dean Lillee (Torana).

Jamie Tilley (Mustang) started on the front row and briefly led before he finished in ninth position. He was ahead of Jim Pollicina (Torana) and Tony Karanfilovski (Mustang) who were barely separated throughout the whole race.

Cam Tilley finished in 12th after starting at the rear of the grid and crossed the line ahead of his brother Brad Tilley in his Ford Falcon XY GT. Danny Buzadzic (Torana), Peter Burnitt (Torana), and Andrew Fisher (Falcon GT) ensued. Gerard McLeod (Holden Commodore) and Sven Burchartz (Porsche 911) were non-finishers.

The Gulf Western Oils Touring Car Masters will be on track again this Wednesday, with the title fight on in earnest as race one is scheduled for 5:25 pm.
