HMO Customer Racing completes move into new facility

HMO Customer Racing has officially moved into its new purpose-built race shop in Campbelltown, NSW.

The inaugural carsales TCR Australia Series champion team has remained on the same site as its former workshop, but now resides in an all-new building, designed and constructed by team owner Barry Morcom, his racing son Nathan, engineer Rob Benson and team manager Scott Fulcher.

The building took around four months to complete.

The new space includes multiple car bays, a show room, engine and transmission and fabrication room, plus a large spare parts storage area.

Team manager Fulcher says that the new space opens up new possibilities for the squad.

“The project was primarily managed by Nathan and as you can see by the finished project, it is a workshop that we can be very proud of,” said Fulcher.

“He’s obviously more than just a race car driver – he wouldn’t be out of place on the next season of The Block!

‘Nathan has worked with a lot of race teams over the years, so he know what we needs out of a well functioning race shop.

“Plus, we also have the experience of Rob (Benson) too, so between us all, we were able to come with with a space that sets us up for the future.

“We have a dedicated engine and transmission room, and also a dedicated fabrication room. Not that we need those too much for our TCR program, but it opens up our capabilities within the sport.”

The team will enter two cars in the 2021 carsales TCR Australia Series, and has two other cars in its fleet, one which is brand-new and another which is available for lease or sale.
