UNIQUE FORMAT FOR MILESTONE TCM WEEKEND

A UNIQUE five-race weekend will highlight the return of the Paynter Dixon Touring Car Masters Series to the Sydney MasterBlast featuring Muscle Car Masters at Sydney Motorsport Park.

The August 30-September 1 weekend marks the return of TCM to the Western Sydney venue for the first time since 2015 and also corresponds with the milestone 300th race in series history.

Following practice on Friday a bumper Saturday program will commence on the Gardner GP circuit with qualifying at 10:15am followed by the Dometic Trophy Race to be contested over six laps at 1:24pm.

The 14th championship race of the 2019 season is scheduled to commence just after 4pm that afternoon – the race to be the 300th contested in TCM history.

A dinner break will see attention shift to night racing on the shorter 2.8km Druitt circuit under floodlights.

A separate 10-minute qualifying session at 7pm will then be followed by the series’ first ever night race commencing at 8:30pm.

In total TCM cars will be on track five times for more than 90 minutes of action on Saturday alone.

While the night race will not count for full championship points 10 points for starting and 10 for finishing will be awarded to each competitor in the same fashion as they are awarded for the Dometic Trophy race at each round.

Sunday 1 September will see Races 15 and 16 of the 2019 championship return to the Gardner GP circuit.

Those races are scheduled to start at 10:17am and 1:47pm respectively.

Tickets are available online from http://www.sydneymasterblast.com/
