CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS TO WITNESS SIX-HOUR DEBUT
THE BEST WAY for fans of motor sport to celebrate Easter is by becoming a volunteer at the 2016 Bathurst Motor Festival – featuring the debut of the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour enduro.250 volunteers are currently being recruited for the 25-27 March Event that will this year not only include a vast array of racing categories, but also the first look at a new ‘iconic’ Bathurst enduro for Production Cars.Positions are available for both CAMS accredited officials – for positions like flag marshals – and non-accredited positions where formal training is not necessary yet support is still needed.All Event volunteers receive a three-day race pass, campground site, jacket, shirts, cap, poster, meals and a complimentary guest pass – as well as the closest possible access to the cars, circuit and precinct possible.Details and nomination forms are still available online at www.bathurstmotorfestival.com.au.”Volunteers are the lifeblood of the sport and it simply cannot function without them,” said Event Director James O’Brien.”The Bathurst Motor Festival has always been well supported by enthusiastic officials who love spending the long weekend at Mount Panorama. This year there will be the added attraction of the inaugural Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour for production cars.”Existing volunteers will attest they are well looked after at this Event, with Easter racing dating back to 1938 in Bathurst..”As well as an anticipated grid of more than 50 cars competing in the Bathurst 6 Hour, the weekend will also include five additional race and regularity categories that will feature big grids and great racing.Production Sports Cars, Historic Touring Cars, HQ Holden’s, Porsche Club NSW Regularity and the NSW Road Racing Club Regularity are also featured on the bumper program.Tickets for the 2016 Bathurst Motor Festival are now on sale and are available from the Event website: www.bathurstmotorfestival.com.au.Tickets start at just $15 for Saturday general admission while an adult weekend GA pass is just $30.Reserved grandstand seats in the pit straight stand are still available and begin at $30 (concession).
