“I was closing on Steve Voight who was sixth on the road and I was certain I could get past him but then the engine development a misfire. My crew told me to go to fifty per cent throttle from there on and that was it he lamented.
It was a solid day for the former Production Car driver in his first full season. “Even though we qualified out of the top ten and missed the Time Attack our fastest lap would have put our car on pole position the last time we raced here he reported.
